YEREVAN, JUNE 21, ARMENPRESS. The early parliamentary elections in Armenia were held in accordance with the country’s national legislation and international standards, and minor violations recorded by observers could not affect the voting results, said the member of the Federation Council of Russia Viktor Smirnov, reports TASS.
“The early parliamentary elections in Armenia were held in accordance with the country’s national legislation and international standards. These minor violations recorded by international observers were of a technical nature and, no doubt, could not have affected the results of the vote,” he said.
Smirnov said he personally visited 17 polling stations in Armenia on election day. He said the Russian senators also met with the leaders of the Central Election Commission, representatives of several political parties and blocs.
“The professionalism of the District Election Commissions and the Central Election Commission was demonstrated on election day. We witnessed organized work where we visited, the electoral legislation of the Republic was correctly applied,” Smirnov said.
The Russian official added that the polling stations, where they went, also maintained anti-coronavirus rules.
